Filed under: SUV , Recalls , Safety , Honda Honda Motor Co. is recalling nearly 347,000 examples of its Pilot crossovers worldwide for a potential issue with the front seatbelts. Honda says the recall, which affects 2009-2011 model year Pilot models built in Alabama, is “due to a manufacturing error on a small number of front seat belts, where the stitching connecting the lap section of the belt to the outboard anchor webbing may be incomplete or missing.” The affected seatbelts could disconnect from the anchor webbing in an accident, increasing the risk of an injury

Despite a coming refresh for the 2012 model year , Honda has been widely reported as planning to send its unibody Ridgeline down the same road as its Element and S2000 after 2013. Even if that’s true, that doesn’t necessarily mean the curtain will have completely closed on the automaker’s pickup truck offerings. According to AutoWeek , the next-generation Honda CR-V – previewed in the official concept image seen above – could spawn a compact pickup variant.
Honda will be giving its Pilot crossover a midlife refresh for the 2012 year. The first big change is the revised front fascia, which will ditch the bulky thick-chrome grille in favor for a more demure three-bar grille.
