Honda Sensing Technology in the 2017 Honda Civic

Included with its offering of 2017 Honda Civic Technology, Honda Sensing is a suite of safety and driver-assistive technologies designed to alert the driver of things they could possibly miss while driving. If your vehicle begins to steer from the center of a detected lane without signaling, the lane keeping assist system adjusts steering to bring you back to the middle of the lane. The adaptive cruise control with low-speed follow helps the driver maintain a set interval on the highway, which means there is no need to manually adjust your speed. With the collision mitigation braking system, your vehicle will brake when it senses a possible unavoidable collision with a vehicle that’s been detected in front of you.

Another safety feature included is a road departure mitigation system, which uses a small camera to visualize the road markers, and alerts the driver when they’re about to leave the road and takes action to prevent you from doing so. By simply signaling right, Honda LaneWatch produces a live video which comes from a small camera on your passenger-side mirror for blindspot assistance. While in reverse, you can be more aware of what is behind you with the three different views available on the multi-angle rearview camera in normal, top-down, and wide views.
